Equipment required

We recommend you wear a warm jacket, snow pants, boots, hat, mitts and something to cover your face and ears (Neck warmer or balaclava). We provide hand warmers.

Safety

All our tours are guided.  Before your activity, your guide will give you dog driving indications and safety instructions.  Our guide always travel with a Spot device and First Aid Kit. 

All clients must read and sign the waiver before any activity.

Fitness

Dog sledding is comparable to downhill skiing.  It does require you to be in relatively good physical shape. You may have to help the dogs up the hills by running beside the sled or kick with one foot over smaller hills.

Terms & Conditions

By booking or participating in a tour or service with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

By booking a Tour you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Booking
You must be at least 19 years of age to make a booking. You agree to provide full, complete and accurate information to Wapigat.

You acknowledge that adventure travel and the services offered involve a significant amount of risk. You must read, understand and complete a waiver/release form before participating in any tour. 

Age Requirements
Anyone under the age of 19 on the date of the tour is considered a minor. Minors must always be accompanied by an adult.

The minimum age to participate in any tour is 12 years old.  

The above requirements apply with no exceptions unless otherwise agreed in writing between the tour participant and an authorized staff.

Deposits and Payments
If you are solely booking your tour product or service online through our website, full payment will be due at the time of booking.

If you are booking over email a 50% deposit will have to be paid at the time of booking. The balance of your booking will be due the day of your tour prior to tour start

Cancelation by the participant
You may cancel your booking by notifying in writing only.

Cancelation fees are as outlined below :

Cancelations received 7 days before your tour : 50 % of the amount paid will be refund.

Cancelations received less than 7 days before your tour : No refund

Cancelation by Wapigat  

If we, Wapigat, have to cancel a tour, we will refund all the money paid to us. 

*Road and Weather

We know that the road conditions and the weather can be unpredictable.  If you can’t make it, email us as soon as possible to re-book your tour. 

For the wellbeing of the dogs, we are not running tours under -25C.

Additional Information
Wapigat reserves the right to deny you permission to participate in any aspect of a tour at any time and at your own risk if we determine that your physical or mental condition renders you unfit for participation or you represent a danger to yourself or others.

Examples are if participant :

·  refuses to use approved safety equipment

·  is under the influence of alcohol, marihuana or any other illegal drugs

·   has no sufficient knowledge of the English/French language to be able to follow instructions

·  has pre-existing injuries that will not allow for physical exercise

· is not in a physical condition to exercise as needed
